This A Vida Portuguesa Colored Pencil Set is made by Viarco, the oldest and only pencil manufacturer in Portugal. The company was founded by industrialist and entrepreneur Manoel Vieira de Araújo in the 1930s, and is still family-owned to this day. Viarco, which is an acronym for Vieira Araújo & Companhia, has been reintroduced to newer generations thanks to A Vida Portuguesa, a Lisbon-based, women-owned shop focused on the traditional craft of Portugal. In partnership with designer Miguel Neiva, this box of 12 colored pencils includes the ColorADD code which is a universal, symbolic language that helps colorblind people identify colors.
