Founded in 1884 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, the Bordallo Pinheiro Ceramics Factory continues the legacy of Raphel Bordalo Pinheiro, a pioneering ceramist who was ahead of his time. Pinheiro's vision seamlessly combined industrial production with the artistic essence of Portuguese craft and became known for a unique blend of creativity, naturalism and humor. He focused primarily on the technique of making faience pottery, which is tin-glazed and enameled therefore having a distinctly decorative appearance. A Vida Portuguesa, a small Lisbon-based, women-owned shop, carries new pieces from the factory that are made using Bordalo Piheiro's original molds. This eye-catching Ceramic Squirrel Pitcher is incredibly detailed, right down to the acorn the animal is holding. With a bushy tail as the handle, the vessel will enhance your daily water intake and delight guests when they come over. The A Vida Portuguesa Ceramic Squirrel Pitcher measures 10h x 5.5w x 9.5"d and holds 40 oz.
