To mark Her Late Majesty The Queen becoming the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, the British Hallmarking Council created a hallmark, which depicts 'EIIR' over '70' within an orb. To commemorate the momentous occasion, we have created a limited addition collection of jewellery which is stamped and decorated with the Jubilee hallmark. The round bangle is Handmade in sterling silver and features the Queens Jubilee Hallmark along with the 5 other standard marks. What is a hallmark? This shows that it has been independently tested and verified, providing consumer protection and confidence and ensuring that the precious metals used to create each item meet a set standard. Dating back to the 14th century, UK hallmarking has provided customers with a sign of excellence, origin and approval on all jewellery passed through their Assay Offices for inspection. The marks consist of- Makers mark- Who made your jewellery. Traditional pictorial mark- What metal your jewellery is made from. The standard mark- Indicates the fineness of the metal. The assay mark- Where your jewellery was hallmarked. The date mark- This will show a letter which will indicate the year your jewellery was made.
