A women's shirt embroidered with national symbols of Estonia. The sleeves of the shirt are adorned with a barn swallow – the official bird of the country. It is depicted on the Cross of Liberty, an award presented to fighters during the Estonian War of Independence. Instances where a country chooses a bird as its official symbol are very rare. Alongside the swallow, embroidered oak leaves are depicted, which are featured on the Estonian coat of arms. The cuffs of the shirt are adorned with blue cornflowers – the national flower of Estonia. It was often found in rye fields, directly associated with bread and fertility.
