We love the preppie-hippie heritage of Liberty Fabrics, a textile house that's been producing some of our favorite prints since 1875. Pepper is one of their most classic, archival prints (in fact, we ran it as one of our very first warm-weather sport shirts in SS08.) The splotchy, miniature floral plays well with the attitude of a button-down collar. This one's got a particularly nice roll to it with just the right amount of "bloom," plus an extra button at the back of the collar, which is an old-school detail originally designed to keep your tie in place. (We just like the way it looks.) As always, the cut is slim but never skinny, with a high armhole for mobility and a long-enough-to-stay-tucked-in shirttail. (Sid likes it this way, but you can always get it shortened.) It's made with single-needle stitching, flat-felled seams, and thick, 3.5mm Trocas shell buttons.
