The Bastion Gilet is a highly insulated 900 fill power down gilet constructed from leading Pertex Quantum fabric. Featuring a targeted baffle system that maximises insulation and breathability, the Bastion Gilet is an uncompromising refuge from the cold. Suitable for arctic expeditions and static activity in freezing climates. Pertex® Quantum uses a tightly woven structure to provide a light and soft down-proof fabric that allows insulation to fully loft, providing both comfort and enhanced thermal performance . Its structure also prevents down shedding, keeping as much insulation as possible within the baffles of the gilet. The fabric is high in tear strength and retains a high level of water repellency after repeated wash and wear. At 900 fill power the Bastion Gilet boasts an incredible level of warmth. Owing to their natural structure, down fibres are highly breathable, they're hydrophobic (meaning they repel water), and their loft helps trap and store heat generated by the body. In terms of practicalities, the structure of down also makes it highly compressible which makes for gilets that can more easily pack down. In terms of features, the Bastion Gilet has a centre front zip with Hypalon zip pull, a zip guard at the top of the jacket prevents irritation when fully zipped. Several pockets offer ample storage capacity for expedition essentials from invisible hip pockets, two large internal stash pockets and a left hand side internal zip pocket. Baffles have been specifically designed to optimise insulation around the body's core. The Bastion Gilet also features a totally unique ThruDark camouflage designed by our in-house team.
