A beautifully made silver articulated fish in the Lake Inle style from Shan state in Myanmar. This lovely fish has moonstone eyes and is accompanied by a small gold mermaid. I imagine a story of a fish and his friendship with the delightful mermaid, swimming in the depths of the lake and watching the fishermen in their narrow boats at dawn throwing their nets into the water. Drawing on ancient Burmese symbols, Buddhist iconography, and the natural world of this beautiful South East Asian country for inspiration, Pippa has been working with Turquoise Mountain Myanmar for years.
