Handcrafted of brass. An homage to the Asàrotos Òikos, or "unswept floor " mosaic of Ancient Rome. Designed for use as an ashtray, jewelry dish, or home accent. Dating back to the second century BC, this mosaic motif depicts remnants of a rich banquet—decaying fish bones, shells, and fruits scattered on the floor. It served as both a symbolic reminder of life's fleeting nature, and a sly status symbol in the homes of the Roman elite. Dimensions: Height: 5.3" X Length: 5.3" Depth: .6" Handmade in NYC.
