The gold and black enamel buttons are based on a moment of the 1939 film 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' — the first of the fourteen Basil Rathbone ones. I didn't see it when it came out, obviously, but about as soon after as I could, and when the fabric came in and clearly deserved the proverbial cherries on top, it immediately sprang to mind.
