The limited-edition Title Shot basketball was made for, and designed by, the trailblazers and torchbearers of Title IX. The basketball is covered in the vibrant voices and symbols of the athletes who played to win the battle for equality and the athletes illuminating the future. Fifty years after the Title IX law was passed, we unfurled an eight-foot-high mural at the 2023 NCAA Women's Final Four. The illustration was blank, waiting to be animated by fans celebrating the historic tournament and athletes whose opportunities were expanded by the amendment. Over four days, they picked up paint pens to immortalize their own Title IX stories and make their mark on the future. The final mural — a medley of colors, voices, and perspectives brimming with optimism, resilience, and tenacity — was transformed into Title Shot. A size 6 composite leather basketball covered in the vibrant collaborative artwork which honors several key trailblazers, torchbearers, moments, and fans' words.
