Our Ballabeg is based on a Workman's boot from the 1950s. Designed for hard graft, there's plenty of mileage in these big, brave boots… and so much more besides. The simple, fuss free upper pattern shows off the quality of the calf leather to the full; ChromeExcel leather from the famous Horween Tannery in Chicago, stuffed with oils to produce a sturdy, practical hide with a pull-up finish - all fully leather lined with a leather insole. Two top ski hooks in antique brass and a leather back pull tab help with 'booting up'. We've also gone to town with a Norwegian welted construction, where the leather welt is stitched to the upper and sole covering the join for additional practicality. And the final icing on the cake, a chunky Vibram sole provides a hard wearing, but lighter weight base to keep you on your feet that bit longer.
