'Plastic Flowers' Book by Joshua Gordon. Plastic Flowers is an A4 size book containing 128 pages of hand treated images and illustrations by Joshua Gordon. Rendered on high quality paper stock it includes special sections printed on tracing paper, chromatic silver paper, gloss and citrine paper. Joshua treated hundreds of images from his archive with oversaturated tones, mimicking the synthetic, fluorescent colours of the plastic flowers that he is always drawn to shoot on his travels, whether in a smokey little club in Thailand, a green bedroom in Cuba or on a gravestone in London, they seem to pop up everywhere. Joshua says, "Flowers, whether real or not are used commonly in ceremonial services, rituals, house warmings, romantic engagements, a little piece of moulded polyester and plastic, a tool used to express grief, passion, sadness, longing. The synthetic ones are just as pretty as the real ones, and sometimes I'm drawn to them even more as they're something that's commonly viewed as tacky or old fashioned. Well, not to me."
