Tussah silk, or shantung, is a type of wild silk, produced by silkworms of the same name that feed on oak and juniper leaves. Because it cannot be farmed, and because it is more complicated to collect, warp and dye, it makes this type of silk an exclusive and cruelty free fabric. The yarns used in our knitwear are carefully selected, sourcing the highest quality natural fibres and then manufactured in small, specialised workshops in the Reggio Emilia region of Italy, which maintain an artisanal approach.
